I loved Gilbert O'Sullivan and owned a few of his singles. I haven't seen The Room and Its Rotten Tomatoes score would put me off watching it. I enjoyed this article very much.
You are, of course, right. My 'guilty pleasure' is a 'guilty pleasure'. In the past I've peddled lists on social media: Bryan Forbes' 'International Velvet', The cutsey-wutsey Parent Trap remake, Kermit's rendition of The Rainbow Connection, one or two Barry Manilow tracks... But then look at Gilbert o' Sullivan, the flat-cap and braces pop artiste (not the operetta duo)- now dead trendy amongst music industry types, 'those in the know'.

*The Room* is impossible to judge on any conventional criteria. It’s bewildering yet compelling. Jarringly bad.
